I was almost shocked when I saw the new Filson caps. No more leather or fabric adjustments, just the cheap plastic fasteners like on €5 caps.
It's simply ridiculous how profit maximization is taking hold here. It used to be quality that convinced people and made them pay the high price, but that's sadly over.
Unfortunately, it no longer makes any sense to buy directly from Filson. Since relocating production from the USA to Sri Lanka and India, for example, the profit margin seems to have increased so much that many stores that sell Filson offer discounts of up to 50% off the RRP. That was unthinkable before.
The store itself is nicely decorated but, of course, only sells the RRP.

When we left a few items on hold and returned to the store about two hours later, the friendly employee was unfortunately no longer there. Instead, there were two other employees who seemed rather bored and annoyed.
