What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are enchanted by Officine Universelle Buly's stunning 19th-century apothecary ambiance and the exquisite quality of its artisanal perfumes and grooming products. The personalized calligraphy service is a standout feature, making purchases feel exceptionally special. While prices are high, the unique experience and craftsmanship are often deemed worth it, though some have encountered inconsistent customer service.
"Walking into Officine Universelle Buly 1803 feels like stepping into a different era. The moment you push open the door, the rich scent of perfumes and essential oils greets you, and the warm lighting reflects off antique-style wooden shelves filled with beautifully arranged bottles and jars. Every detail of the shop’s interior from the marble counters to the vintage décor adds to the feeling that you’re somewhere truly special.
The products here are unlike anything you’ll find in a regular store. There’s a wide range of artisanal perfumes, skincare items, and grooming accessories, each made with great attention to quality and presentation. One of my favorite parts of the experience was the calligraphy service having my name handwritten on the label felt incredibly personal and made the purchase even more memorable.
Prices are on the higher side, but in my opinion, they match the craftsmanship and the uniqueness of what you’re getting. The staff know their products well and can help guide you to the perfect scent or gift, though the service could feel a little warmer at times. Overall, it’s a place worth visiting, whether you’re treating yourself or picking out something truly special for someone else."

"Today 10/06 I was helped by a lovely lady, Gioia. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. The store was neat, service was quick but not rushed in any way. I expected a crowd, however the store wasn’t busy and there was a perfect balance between getting the time to look around and getting the help I needed. Prices are, as expected, on the higher end but is compensated by excellent expertise, packing & engraving services and gorgeous visual merchandising.
A tip to visit! Great for gifts, also for yourself 😊"

"This was the worst customer experience I have ever had. I was there with two other people, and the staff member was rude from the very beginning, which I initially tried to ignore. She told me that I could only choose five items for the day. When I asked why, she simply said it was their policy. While I was still talking to her, she abruptly said she would start with the five brushes and combs, so I waited for her to return.
When she came back, I explained that one of the people with me would choose five items and pay separately, and I would only be choosing four lip balms. She refused and told me I would have to come back tomorrow. We explained that our flight was the next day and that there was no sign or notice anywhere stating a limit on items per day. I also told her we would be paying separately, but she still said no. Her explanation was that we came together “as a family,” which makes no sense—she doesn’t know our relationship. Also, there was no line behind us at the time.
I even offered to leave, stand in line again, and return for my four items, but she still refused. She then started speaking in another language, and I am certain she was saying something inappropriate. She told me to pay for the first items “so we can finish” in a very rude tone. At the end, she told me to go choose my items again, also in an extremely rude manner. She even did one of the engravings incorrectly, but I stayed quiet because I just wanted to complete my purchase and leave. I was there because I value the brand and was paying for high-quality products as a customer.
In total, we purchased nine items as a group. Looking back, I should have walked out from the beginning because the entire situation was stressful and unnecessary. What makes it worse is that I saw a couple before us do the exact same thing without any issue or conflict."
