Reviews Summary

Parco Portello is appreciated as a spacious and artistically designed green area in Milan, offering a peaceful retreat with unique sculptures and a connection to the city's industrial past. Visitors enjoy its open spaces for relaxation and picnics, though some note the lack of on-site dining facilities.

"It was a great and nature experience leaves are all green and different kind of leafs which different Color’s too. It’s quiet big. There were paths where you can hide and seek with your kiddo’s or have an adventure on it. There were also a connection to arrive in city life. If you prefer to walked to passed by or to go into another place this is perfect. There were also a shopping place here it’s all walking distance to one place to another. I recommend to visit and have some work specially with your family. A simple bonding with friends too."

"By design, the park wants to establish a continuity, even historical, with that of the Montagnetta di San Siro : like that, the two hills, much smaller, were built with rubble and excavated earth and are connected to it by a walkway. It is divided into several areas, the first of which is the hill of "prehistory", with its S-shape that shelters from the noise of the road and envelops a large body of water. Its shape takes up the first great structure of the universe, the spirals of the galaxies and, finally, the theme of speed in memory of past activities. Going down from this hill you come to that of "history", a crescent, which separates the "Time Garden" from the rest of the park. The most imposing hill, which looks towards the city center, is dedicated to the "present", with a path that unravels on a double helix culminating in its highest point (22 meters). At the top is a fountain and a metal DNA sculpture, in homage to the theme of life. The "Time Garden", on the other hand, is the most intimate and protected space in the park, with black and white plates marking the rotation of the Earth, the four seasons with metal septa, the 28 days of the lunar cycle in circles, 12 months of the year like words cut out of metal, the 365 days of the year and the waves of the heartbeat, marked on the floor between black and white plates.  The entire park stands on an embankment ten meters high obtained with the construction of special retaining walls"

"This was the first park that I went to after moving to Milan, a new city, a new country for a young girl. The morning was beautifully pleasant with the sun peeking through the ample greenery in the park. There are a lot of dog-owners around with their cute little pets playing around and adding to the vibe of the park. There are many areas with different viewpoints and features. My favourite feature is a spiral ascending walkway, at the top of which is a natural drinking water fountain and a glorious view out into City Life, a busy and posh district in northern Milan. There's a duck pond too with a large area for seating. Overall, this has been a place of comfort and happiness for me since arriving in the city. ❤️"
