Reviews Summary

Visitors find Ponte delle Sirenette a charming and picturesque spot, especially within the lively Navigli district. The bridge's unique siren sculptures and the canal-side ambiance are frequently praised. However, some note that it can become very crowded, particularly during sunset, which can detract from the experience.

"The Bridge of the Little Mermaids inside Sforzesco Castle is a lovely hidden spot. It's calm and great for taking photos of the castle. You can get there easily by metro, just stop at Cairoli on M1, or walk from the Duomo in about 15 minutes. It's right in the city center, surrounded by trees and quiet paths. Nice place to take a break. Best to go on a weekday (weekends and holidays can be busy.) A simple, peaceful corner worth seeing."

Rosheen Fernando

"This charming iron footbridge crosses a small artificial lake in Parco Sempione and is adorned with four siren statues at its corners. Originally built between 1840 and 1842 and designed by Francesco Tettamanzi, it holds the distinction of being Italy’s first cast-iron bridge. It was initially installed over the Naviglio Paderno canal but was relocated to its current location in 1930 after the canal was buried. The four sirens, affectionately nicknamed the Ghisini Sisters, suffered damage during World War II bombings, and one was stolen in 1948. By 1954, the statues were restored using a mix of original cast iron and bronze replicas. Since the late 19th century, the bridge has been a beloved romantic spot. According to local legend, touching the sirens’ chest or hips brings happiness, prosperity, or everlasting love."

Seokjin Ham

"Very sweet little pond in the park behind the Castle Sforzesco. The water was amazingly clear and you could even see the fish. Great place for a walk or picnic!

There were plenty of parking benches, places to sit in the sun or in the shade of a tree. Went around 3pm and it wasn't too busy."
