What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
San Carlo Borromeo Hospital receives mixed reviews. While some praise its emergency response and professional staff, others report significant issues with long wait times, communication barriers for non-Italian speakers, and perceived inattentiveness. The hospital is a vital medical center, but visitor experiences can vary greatly.
"My girlfriend is an international student who is paying the most expensive kind of tuition to the most expensive private university in your country, but the doctor in the emergency room this early morning just assumed she’s in illegal immigration because of her race without checking her document and being really really rude to her even said something really racist and cursing words."

"I went to the Hospital San Carlo as a tourist at exactly 24:00 (12 pm) because of a really strong stomach pain. The woman in the register room was really nice and tried to talk and explain as much as she could in english but the staff in the waiting room had a really big problems with english. I was left in the waiting room when the only check they made was a blood test. That was the first and last treatment i received from them for exactly 7 hours without anyone even looking in my direction. People arriving after me also with white code got treated way before me causing me to be left as a last person in the waiting room. At exactly 7:20 in the morning i got told that theres no doctor to check up on me so i can go home. Not even mentioning that after switching shifts the morning personel didn’t even understand the simplest question in english “Can i go” so i had to use a google translate on my phone to communicate with them."

"I wish I could give it 0 stars. The staff is rude and inattentive; I have been waiting for 5 hours with my finger cut off… it’s green and oozing and nothing. People come with serious wounds and attacks and the nurses just ignore. STAY AWAY! Go to the one in San Ambrogio instead."
