Here you can admire the Miraculous Crucifix of St. Papino, which, carried in procession on April 15, 1798, inexplicably wept due to a severe drought. The air immediately filled with clouds and it rained for three days, while people and the countryside were brought to their knees by famine and lack of water. The linked page cites the documents. The crucifix was created by a friar, Umile di Petralia, who died in the odor of sanctity. There is a canvas on the high altar depicting, among other things, the martyr St. Papino, which the Catholic Church shares with the Orthodox Church.
