What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the AGO Modena for its successful transformation of a historic hospital into a vibrant cultural space, appreciating the blend of ancient architecture and contemporary art. The professionalism of the staff and the quality of exhibitions are frequently highlighted. While some note ongoing restoration, the overall sentiment is positive regarding the repurposing of the site.
"Based in the historic Estense hospital."
David Baker
"Beautiful place, ancient walls and modern heads.
We put on an exhibition and I worked with amazing people. Zero fuss, professionalism at the highest levels, no one held back on anything, very high quality of materials...
Modena is also a splendid city, on a human scale but with well-organised services.
The center is beautiful with its ancient buildings, streets paved with irregular stones and long, narrow porticoes that are reminiscent of its "rival" Bologna.
I say rival because we also saw the famous Secchia kidnapped", in the Municipality premises and protected by an "anti-Bolognesi" alarm system
An experience that I will always gladly remember."
Graz Pedrocchi
"The restoration of period properties is always challenging. It is therefore understandable that it is still a bit of a construction site. Hats off to the city for making what used to be the city hospital accessible to the city."
