Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Porta Padova for its excellent preservation and historical significance as a key medieval gate. The adjacent Ezzelino da Romano Tower is a highlight for its stunning views. Some minor drawbacks include the presence of pigeons and the closure of nearby Villa Pisani.

"One of the main four city gates through the incredible medieval town walls."

David Smith

"Excellently preserved, it dates back to the late 13th century and is one of the two original gates in the Montagnana walls (today there are four).
It is accessible for cars to exit, and pedestrians can access it in both directions.
The fortified entrance was further protected by the presence, immediately next to it, of Castel Zeno, with its tall keep (once, the entrance even passed through Castel Zeno).
It's worth a visit..."

"Porta Padova is reasonably well-maintained, used only for car and motorcycle exits, and pedestrian access in both directions. Next door is the library and restaurant/pizzeria on one side, and on the other, the information desk and the city museum. It's a shame about the pigeons... Opposite, Villa Pisani is closed, but its exterior is very interesting."

Its construction reflects the robust military architecture of the era, designed to withstand sieges and control access to the city.
