"The church is part of a larger Benedictine monastic complex, but can be visited separately. It is striking for its position, squeezed between the bulk of the monastery and the wall of the latter's garden. The layout is Romanesque, as is the staircase through which it is accessed. The gabled façade, solemn and austere, is enlivened by a single portal, a single squared window and a tympanum at the top. The interior is a Baroque-style renovation, with later, airy portions of frescoes, almost rococo in style, which are more suited to a private palace than a church. Here and there fragments of frescoes with saints survive, among which the oldest are those in the apse. The wooden organ is also very beautiful, surrounded by grates from which the cloistered nuns could attend mass. Entrance is free, but if you want advice, ring the buzzer at the nearby monastery, or call the numbers outside, because it is possible to visit the cloisters and go up behind the organ, which allows you to observe the church from the same perspective as the nuns in the 16th century."
