Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Santa Maria al Carrobiolo for its historical significance as the last Humiliati church and its artistic treasures. The ancient bell tower is a notable highlight. However, inconsistent opening hours and difficulty finding information are common frustrations, often requiring visitors to align their visit with Mass times or guided tours.

"Best morning mass in Monza"

Paolo Landrini

"Unfortunately, this church in Monza was also closed on Sundays, and I couldn't find any information about its opening hours, other than for Holy Mass. It's a shame, because from what I've read, it houses many masterpieces by important artists. The complex, located in the square of the same name, consists of a church and a convent, both stylistically distinct. To find the oldest (13th century) and original part, keep in mind the bell tower (the oldest in the city). By skirting the complex to the left and then turning right, arriving at the river (about 150-200 meters), you can better admire both the flat apse and the Lombard red brick bell tower. Everything else was modified by the Barnabites in the 16th century, who replaced the Humiliati. The church is the only surviving Humiliati church in Monza.
The current main façade, opened by a large Serlian window, is divided into two orders, with a stone portal and a tympanum at the top."
