Igor Shapiro

"The church of San Carlo alle Mortelle is an important example of Neapolitan Baroque art. Construction began in the 17th century and was completed in phases, involving several architects. The façade was completed in the 18th century. After the suppression of the Barnabites by the French in 1806, the church passed to various congregations and became a parish in 1937. In 2009, a collapse caused structural damage, but it was restored after a few years and is now reopened."
