"The church was built between the 12th and 13th centuries. In 1572, due to the insecurity of the ancient cathedral of San Paragorio, located outside the city walls, the title of cathedral was transferred to San Pietro with a papal bull by Pope Gregory XIII. This transfer was motivated by threats from Spanish troops who had conquered the Marquisate of Finale."

"Very beautiful church, impressive at first sight. There are practically no people, so you can be alone. The church is very old, there was once a bishopric here, then it was merged with the bishopric of Savona, but still Noli retains its independence. From the point of view of history and architecture, it is a very valuable place. We recommend visiting."
