"Modern and well‑organized ski rental with top‑quality equipment. Everything was smooth and well managed. We felt very well taken care of. Thank you!"

"We hired from here because of the high Google ratings. Unfortunately our experience didn’t live up to these ratings. We ordered online and it didn’t really matter what we ordered because the guy at the counter just looked at the price we were quoted online and charged us that regardless of the type of skis we were given. Service was also really haphazard and the shop got quite crowded at times. When we returned our skis there was a big queue of people in the shop and the guy took my skis and gave them straight to someone else without even re-waxing them or checking they were okay. Overall the skis we were given were fine for our weeks skiing and the cost reasonable, just be prepared for an interesting experience when hiring"

"Fantastic place. I rented a pair of 2025 Völkl Peregrine 76, a €1000 top of the line pair of skis, for €160 for 6 days, almost half the price of any other ski shop in the town. Contrary to the other review, the fact I ordered the "exclusive" option did make a difference as I was shown only their best skis, and they had all the latest expert carving models from Head, Nordica, Völkl etc. The pair I picked were in excellent condition, recently waxed and sharpened. Despite this they sharpened them for me again mid week. They will let you swap over to other skis or snowboard too if you want. Run by 3 generations of the same family, the oldest gentleman is very kind but speaks very little English so just find the grandsons and they will sort you out if you're picky and want a chat about the right pair. They have everything, from hardcore race carving through multiple all mountain pairs, through to various freeride options. They also have free, heated ski/boots storage that every other ski shop will charge for. I wouldn't look anywhere else if I came back."

Choosing the Right Skis for Val Gardena
If you plan to venture off-piste or explore varied snow conditions, all-mountain skis are a versatile choice. They typically have a wider waist than carving skis, offering better float in powder and stability on uneven terrain. For true freeriders, freeride skis with a significant amount of rocker and a wider profile are ideal for deep snow and playful riding. Many rental shops in Ortisei offer a selection of these types, so discussing your plans with the rental staff can help you find the perfect pair.
Remember that the latest models are often available in the 'exclusive' rental tiers. These skis feature advanced construction and materials, providing superior performance and responsiveness. Don't hesitate to ask about the specific characteristics of the skis you're considering, such as their flex, turning radius, and intended use.
The Val Gardena Ski Experience
Popular areas accessible from Ortisei include Seceda and Alpe di Siusi (Seiser Alm). Seceda offers iconic panoramic views and challenging runs, while Alpe di Siusi is Europe's largest high-altitude alpine meadow, providing gentler slopes and stunning vistas, perfect for a more relaxed day. The region is known for its excellent snow conditions, well-maintained pistes, and efficient lift systems.
Beyond skiing, Val Gardena offers charming villages like Ortisei, known for its woodcarving tradition and vibrant atmosphere. You can enjoy delicious South Tyrolean cuisine, relax in cozy mountain huts, and soak in the unique blend of Italian and Austrian culture. The overall vibe is one of adventure, natural beauty, and authentic alpine charm.
