"Small temple, not really worth the detour to be honest."
Koen Dewulf
"The oldest parts of the site is 300bc .last time I seen it I don't know why they do it but it was full of rubbish. Surrounded by nature and a stunning view no far from San Patrizio well ,around the area there is a reasonable amount of a parking space"
federico iannaccone
"The base and parts of the original pillars are still clearly visible. The site is rather overgrown and a little tatty but still worth a visit if you are on your way to St Patrick’s Well."

Historical Significance and Current State
Despite its current condition, the historical importance of the temple remains. It's a reminder of the ancient settlements in the region. For those interested in archaeology and history, the visible foundations are the main draw. The site's appeal is often enhanced by its natural setting and the panoramic views it offers.
It's important for visitors to manage their expectations. Belvedere Temple is not a grand, restored monument but rather an archaeological site where the past is subtly present amidst nature. Its value lies in its historical context and the serene environment it inhabits, especially when visited as part of a broader exploration of the Orvieto area.
Visiting in Conjunction with St. Patrick's Well
St. Patrick's Well is a much larger and more elaborate attraction, featuring a double-helix staircase descending deep into the earth. By visiting both, you can experience a range of historical and engineering marvels in one outing. Belvedere Temple serves as a brief, ancient counterpoint to the well's impressive Renaissance construction.
This combined visit strategy is frequently recommended on travel forums and by those who have explored the region. It allows visitors to appreciate the historical layers of the area without feeling that Belvedere Temple itself warrants a dedicated, lengthy excursion.
