Reviews Summary
Visitors find Palazzo del Popolo and its piazza historically significant and charming, offering a glimpse into medieval civic life. However, inconsistent and unreliable opening hours have been a recurring frustration for many, detracting from the accessibility of this historically rich site.
"This is a historically interesting site, especially if you enjoy medieval civic architecture and the shifting role of public spaces in Italian history. The building evokes the power struggles between church, nobility, and emerging civic institutions — and it's well worth a look if you're in Orvieto.
However, a major drawback is the lack of reliable information about opening hours. The times listed online were incorrect, which made visiting unnecessarily complicated. It’s a shame, because a site with this kind of historical weight deserves better accessibility and communication."

"Magnificent old building and square in the old center of Orvieto. There are some restaurant and bars in the surroundings and in the streets to the Palazzo. The building itself was closed to public, when we visited Orvieto in September 2020... the outside has the look of an old castle.
There’s a local market with a lot of local products every Saturday on the Piazza de Popolo..."
