"Unique concept & great views of the valley. We bought a bottle of bubbly + snacks from the vending machine and enjoyed a nice picnic. Many smaller tables & chairs around so everyone can find a place. It was a very hot day & heavy climb as we hiked to the top, but worth the experience."

"We loved our visit here, something different in a beautiful setting.
The views are great and even with other people around you can still find a little place to yourself. I read some negative reviews so I was hesitant but all I can say is embrace it for what it is…
You can buy a half bottle for 9 euros, there are plastic cups for free and you don’t have to buy food if you don’t want to. A full bottle ranges from 15-20 euros, it is a business after all! And other drink options are available. You can use a card for payment, the machine had a glitch and the guy came and fixed it within 2 minutes. There were not only tourists visiting but Italians too. It’s also on a bus route up until around 6pm I think. It was very chilled and we were really pleased we came here."

"The name of the place literally means without host so there is no food or service there. The history of the place is more interesting than anything else and the views are beautiful. Go to learn the history and walk away having enjoyed the views"

The Unique Self-Serve Experience
Reviews highlight that while some might be hesitant about the lack of traditional service, embracing the concept is key to enjoying the experience. The prices for wine range from €9 for a half bottle to €15-€30 for a full bottle, which is considered fair for the quality and location. Plastic cups are provided for free, and you don't have to purchase food if you prefer just to enjoy a drink.
This self-service model is more than just a gimmick; it's a reflection of the region's agricultural heritage and a way to offer visitors an authentic, unhurried experience. It allows people to linger, savor the views, and create their own picnic at their own pace, making it a truly memorable stop in the Prosecco hills.
Navigating the Climb and Views
However, the effort is widely considered worth it for the breathtaking panoramic views of the rolling hills carpeted with vineyards. The best vistas are often found at the very top, near the vending machines, where you can truly appreciate the landscape. Many reviewers suggest that the views alone are a significant draw, even beyond the unique self-serve aspect.
While parking is limited, the option of taking a bus that runs until the early evening provides an alternative for those who prefer not to drive or hike the entire way. This accessibility, combined with the stunning scenery, makes Osteria Senz'Oste a popular spot for both tourists and locals seeking a picturesque escape.
