Reviews Summary

Reviews for Museo Diocesano Ostuni are mixed. Some visitors find it small and not worth the cost, with a poorly maintained garden. Others appreciate its historical significance and the beauty of the Archbishop's Palace and its garden, though multilingual information is a noted drawback. Reddit

"not worth the money at all. small museum and only weeds in the garden. not recommended. you can spend the money better."

Eugenie van Dijk

"Undoubtedly a highlight for Italians! Beautifully presented sights, including the remains of a prehistoric human who must have lived here in the caves of Ostuni. Unfortunately for the rest of the European visitors, they can't read Italian fluently enough to understand the seemingly extensive texts and instructions. The QR code we accidentally discovered after much translation guesswork didn't work! Frustration at its peak. "Pictures, but no sound."
Tip: Place a simple QR code sticker under each description with the translation of each story in at least a few languages. Google has excellent tools for generating both the translations and the QR codes."

Martijn Limburg

"I couldn't get in, the museum was closed, but the place where it is located is beautiful in the historic center of Ostuni."

The Magic of Ostuni's 'White City'

Ostuni, famously known as the 'White City' (Città Bianca), is a breathtaking hilltop town in Puglia characterized by its dazzling whitewashed buildings that cascade down the hillside. The historic center is a maze of narrow, winding alleys, steep staircases, and charming courtyards, creating an almost labyrinthine effect. TikTok+1 Wandering through these streets is an experience in itself, with every turn revealing a new picturesque scene, often adorned with vibrant bougainvillea and potted plants.

The architecture is a blend of medieval and Baroque styles, with houses built close together to maximize shade and coolness. The whitewashed walls are not just aesthetic; they historically helped reflect the intense Puglian sun, keeping interiors cooler. TikTok This unique urban design makes Ostuni incredibly photogenic, attracting visitors and photographers alike. The best way to explore is to simply get lost and discover hidden gems, from small artisan shops to panoramic viewpoints offering stunning vistas of the Adriatic Sea and the surrounding olive groves. TikTok

While the charm of Ostuni lies in its spontaneous exploration, it's important to be prepared for the terrain. The hilly landscape and cobblestone streets mean comfortable footwear is essential.
