Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Palazzo Bo for its incredible historical significance, particularly the ancient anatomical theatre and Galileo's lecture hall. The guided tours are often described as informative and engaging, offering a deep dive into centuries of academic tradition. Some visitors noted potential language barriers with tours, but the overall experience is highly recommended for its unique educational value.

"The “Ox Inn” converted in 1494 to become eventually Padua University. The old court, one of the finest buildings of the renaissance began in 1546 with Doric columns in the lower and Ionic in the upper decorated with original crests. Galileo taught (1592-1610) in the great hall which is dedicated to his memory and where current honorary degrees are presented. The anatomy theatre (1594) is the earliest permanent anatomy theatre in the world. The theatre has an inverted cone and elliptical ground plan with 6 layers of seating and last used in 1872. Elena L. C. Piscopia, in 1678, became the first woman in the world to graduate from a university and received her degree in philosophy at Pudua. This historic university is a great value visit. Do take a guided tour to learn about the history and to have access to the anatomy theatre."

"We were so excited to visit this place. We booked the guided tour with them. Our guide showed us around, informative, and quite friendly. Unfortunately, it was such a shame I did not follow the whole information due to the Italian-English dialect speaking 🥲. We had a great time browsing on the walls on our own and we used google to do the research on what we found interesting."
