What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Ecomuseo del Mare Memoria Viva for its passionate staff, insightful guided tours, and unique exhibits that offer an authentic look at Palermo's history and its relationship with the sea. The setting in an old train station hall is noted as particularly cool. Some mention the surrounding area can appear scruffy, but this is seen as adding to the place's context.
"This place is well worth a visit, it is just a couple of euros extra to have the guided tour and the staff are very passionate. We really enjoyed hearing some of the recent history of Palermo from a local. Although the location is a little scruffy (walking there from the centre takes you through some pretty run down looking areas) it puts the place in perfect context and you will learn why this is the case."
