What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the panoramic views from Rocca di Sala Pietrasanta, especially at dusk, and the novelty of the 'Big Bench'. However, many are disappointed by the neglected state of the ruins, lack of historical information, and the bench often being crowded.
"It’s nice to sit on the Big Bench at dusk and enjoy small talk while looking at Pietra Santa. If you have time, you should visit. It doesn’t take long, but be aware that the slope is steep and the path is not well-maintained."

"Great place."

"Let's start by saying that only a few perimeter walls remain of the Rocca, although from below it gives the impression of a veritable castle still standing. Access is via a short but somewhat steep climb starting from the cathedral square. People usually fight over photos sitting on the giant bench at the top, but honestly, it's not worth it! Once you reach the top, the view is nice but certainly not breathtaking (a wide expanse of cityscape and warehouses with a stretch of sea in the background). The trail ends under the only remaining perimeter wall, and two large plastic pipes are prominently displayed (photo). As for the bench, it's usually mobbed by hordes of children or teenagers smoking... Let's just say there are better attractions in the area!"
