Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Pistolesa Bridge for its iconic bungee jumping experience and stunning natural setting. The bridge's imposing architecture and the thrilling 152-meter drop are major highlights. While the bungee jump is the primary draw, the 'cathedral in the desert' ambiance and panoramic views also impress.

"The bridge gives the impression of being a "cathedral in the desert". In fact, it is only crossed by a low-traffic provincial road which is also closed to heavy vehicles. Even pedestrian crossings are (or would be) prohibited, probably because the viaduct was the scene of insane acts in the past.
The fact remains that with its 152 meters of height when it was built (between 1972 and 1973) it was considered the tallest in Italy!"

Enrico Ripamonti

"The Pistolesa Bridge is a road bridge connecting Veglio to Mosso and has been home to Italy's first permanent bungee jumping center since the 1990s.
It is 350 meters long and 152 meters high; the main span measures 46 meters.
The bridge was built in 1972 and completed in 1973. At the time of its construction, it was reputedly the highest road bridge in the country and one of the first in Europe.
From the first years following its construction, it was a chosen place for numerous people to commit suicide."

GIORGIO CERUTTI

"An impressive road link suspended in mid-air between Veglio and Mosso, possibly towards Biella. Due to its imposing size and exorbitant height, 152 meters above sea level, it's also known as the Colossus, and indeed, traveling it creates a certain sense of unease and a rush to reach the end...but for the same reason, it has been the permanent home for decades of a fully equipped bungee jumping center using devices patented by the Departments of the Polytechnic University of Milan, which, in my opinion, doesn't make this "game of death" any more interesting. However, for this very reason, the site is highly frequented year-round. It's also located in the area devastated 51 years ago, in 1968, by a disastrous and widespread flood that brought the local wool industry to its knees for a long time. From a naturalistic perspective, the entire area is of astonishing beauty."
