What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the authentic experience of learning about and tasting Culatello at Antica Corte Pallavicina, praising the informative museum and unique aging cellars. While some found the museum a bit 'improvised,' the overall consensus is that the tasting and the rustic charm make it a worthwhile visit, especially for food lovers.
"I’d never heard of Culatello before visiting here and we went on a whim. It was a pretty interesting self guided tour and history of the area and of Culatello. The tasting at the end was fantastic. It’s well worth the drive into the middle of nowhere if you’re anywhere near Parma."

"As a "hobbyist/former professional" Salumi maker, this was like an Elvis-lover visiting Graceland! While it might seem cheesey or low budget to some expecting grandeur, this was an awesome time spent for my family and I. Even our kids had fun running around investigating. Even in the "smelly room". The panels and audioguide (I highly suggest using it) were very informative, well organized, and informed nicely on history, process, quality, resources, and region in the exhibits. Being able to walk through the aging cellar was just as incredible and envy-inducing. The staff of the hotel/restaurant/museum were all very nice and helpful, especially during our tasting and drinks following the tour. While I wish the tasting had included more ages of the Culatello, it was still quite delicious to taste the 24 month Culatello, Coppa, and Salami for a very fair price."

"We must have missed the actual museum because what we saw were just a bunch of rooms that were part of an old farmhouse with large posters of the history and process of making prosciutto. Each poster was numbered 1-30 and each room had one or two vintage farm / prosciutto making tools.
We didn’t see any actual prosciutto or even any pigs on the property. Very odd. Might be worth it if your nearby but certainly not the 1 1/2 drive we took to get there."
