Reviews Summary

Visitors are deeply moved by the solemnity and historical significance of the Garden of the Fugitives, finding the plaster casts a powerful and poignant reminder of the eruption's human toll. The overall Pompeii experience is lauded for its immersive journey back in time, though the vastness of the site and the condition of some exhibits are noted. Reddit

"The solemnity associated to being in the presence of (yes they are plaster casts of Pompeii citizens that were caught in the eruption) is deeply felt. These people had no hope of rescue or safety and their lives are cut short in an instant in time. Looking at photographs does not do them justice, but to stand in their presence is akin to the memorials of the Twin Towers, Hiroshima or a Concentration Camp from WWII.
Recommend that you walk the streets of Pompeii and soak up the amazing work that has been done here to allow us to journey back 2000yrs in time to an actual Roman city, this is not a movie set…it is real! Save the Garden of fugitives until the end of your tour , it will bring the eruption and the loss into perspective."
