Slightly detached from the Cathedral and built in Romanesque-Gothic style, it was begun in 1291 and completed in 1347, replacing an earlier structure, presumably located in the cathedral's left chapel. Initially, the ground floor contained a room used as a prison. Completed in 1374, a spire was added during the 17th century, bringing it to a height of approximately 79 meters.
