What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the unique open-air lift experience, praising the intimate connection with nature and the stunning panoramic views of Lake Garda and the Alps. The journey is described as peaceful and a great value, especially with ample free parking. However, some caution is advised regarding the food quality at the top and the need for warm clothing due to potentially low summit temperatures.
"It’s a very special place and a very special funivia. Unlike these more than ones where groups of sweat tourists are packed in a metal egg, this is a very private and genuine experience where a person can be one-to-one with the beautiful nature, observe it wonders without looking at it through plastic or glass, feel the touch of wind and kisses of sun. The tickets are not expensive and the journey is long enough to enjoy it fully. The view from above is fantastic. I highly recommend it. Just avoid the hut of filthy food right after the exit on top"

"The ride itself was about thirty five minutes long if I count both rides. The price was thirty euro for two people for ride up and for the ride down.
I personaly am scared of heights so the ride itself was not particulary enjoyable for me, but the views you get already here are stunning.
Of course if you have time, energy and healthy knees the walk up would be much more satisfying but you can watch walkers from the ride and be glad you dont have to walk. :D"

"Brilliant place! We've been in a few cable cars around the lake, and this was our favourite! So much so , we went back and did it again. No queues, stunning views, and not crammed in a hot enclosed cable car. Starts with a basket lift and then change onto a chair lift. Very relaxing and peaceful with plenty of time to take in the view.
Plenty of free parking, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Places to get drinks and food at both stops. Highly recommend"

Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
It's crucial to pack warm clothing for everyone, as temperatures at the summit can be surprisingly cold. The journey itself is long enough to be engaging for kids, and the stunning views offer plenty to point out and discuss. While there are food options, it's wise to bring snacks or be prepared for potentially lower quality food at the top, as one review noted.

The Unique Open-Air Lift Experience
This open-air aspect, however, comes with practical considerations. Travelers are strongly advised to dress warmly, even during summer months, as temperatures at the summit can drop significantly. Bringing a jumper and a rain jacket is essential, as visibility can also be severely impacted by weather conditions. The journey itself is a significant part of the attraction, with the ride lasting around thirty-five minutes for the round trip, providing ample time to soak in the breathtaking scenery.
While the experience is highly recommended for its uniqueness and stunning views, it's worth noting that those with a fear of heights might find the open nature of the lifts challenging. Nevertheless, the opportunity to be one-to-one with the beautiful nature and observe its wonders without glass or plastic is a rare and cherished experience for many visitors.
Maximizing Your Monte Baldo Visit
Timing your visit can also play a role in crowd management. While queues are generally not an issue, visiting on a Sunday morning in late September reportedly meant no waiting time. This suggests that weekdays or shoulder seasons might offer a more relaxed experience. The cost for a round trip is considered reasonable, with a ticket for two people around 30 Euros, making it an accessible adventure.
Finally, while the lifts provide a comfortable ascent, observing the hikers can be a reminder of the more strenuous but potentially rewarding option of walking up. For those seeking refreshments, there are places at both stops, but be cautious about the quality of food, as one review specifically warned against the 'filthy food' at the top hut.
