What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the unique, historic ambiance and the breathtaking views from the infinity pool, describing the experience as magical and fairy-tale-like. However, some reviews highlight concerns about overcrowding and cleanliness in the pools, with a few guests experiencing poor customer service.
"Beautiful location and nice idea. Very cool design and unique location. The spa was crammed with people, some of the steam rooms smelled like urine.
The outside infinity pool is nice with a great view. The other pools looked murky and dirty. We saw in multiple pools clumps of white fluid floating in the pool. There is no enforcement of any rules so left with no one to enforce people do what they please in the pools. I have gone to many thermal baths and have not seen anything like this before. They need to clean the baths.
The cleaning folks did a nice job of keeping the floors and the bathrooms clean so there was no trash around. I would not return here. Ever."

"One of our best stays.
The environment is just amazing, like a fairy tale, the rooms are so comfortable, the staff are kind and so nice, and obviously the balneario and all the services are incredible.
All that make the place feels like magic. It's one of those places one have to go once in life."
Sisi Jing
"This place is gross. The spa was crammed with people and the water was dirty. Trash throughout the buildings, it’s clear the staff doesn’t do much to clean up. Smells like sweat and urine. There’s only a trickle of fresh water coming into the pools - with hundreds of people entering and exiting it just doesn’t stay clean.
The website shows one price but they don’t honor that price when you show up. Stay away."

The San Martino sweating grotto, a natural thermal cave, is a highlight, offering a truly ancient sauna experience. The outdoor infinity pool, while modern, is perfectly integrated into the landscape, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
While the historical aspect is a significant plus, some reviews mention that the spa can feel crowded, and cleanliness standards might not meet everyone's expectations. However, for those seeking a spa experience steeped in history and natural beauty, Bagni Vecchi offers an unparalleled setting.

Beyond the iconic outdoor pool, the spa features several indoor thermal pools, often integrated into the historic stone structures. These offer a more intimate and sheltered experience. A unique feature is the San Martino sweating grotto, a natural thermal cave that functions as a sauna, providing a deeply therapeutic and ancient wellness ritual.
It's worth noting that some visitor feedback has pointed out concerns regarding water cleanliness and overcrowding in certain pools. While the staff generally maintains cleanliness in common areas, the sheer volume of visitors can sometimes impact the pristine condition of the water.
