What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests generally praise Palazzo del Podestà for its stunning Tuscan views, spacious and comfortable rooms, and excellent breakfast. However, some have noted inconsistencies in service and found the spa to be average for the price. Potential noise from doors and reception areas are also mentioned as drawbacks by a few visitors.
"I had an enjoyable stay overall. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, offering a great view that added to the experience. The staff were friendly and provided good service throughout my visit. Breakfast was tasty and had a decent variety.
However, the spa was a bit of a letdown — it felt average and not quite worth the price. That said, I still appreciated the overall atmosphere and the time spent at the hotel. Would consider returning, especially for the rooms and service."

"Where to start. We arrived late in the evening, night Portier present, or better to say not present. When he finally showed up, no English, like zero and horrible facial expressions just because we wanted to check in. Apologies for paying for your salary with our presence sir. Room was located literally beside reception which wouldn't be a problem if for some reason, from one of millions doors in room would often come very loud disturbing noise! Also, bathroom doors are SO loud, when opening and closing that I'm surprised that other guests didn't hear them, nevertheless your partner in room. If you go to toilet you're both awake, 100%! And bare in mind, this is their best room, "junior suit" with spa access.
Cleaning! Or better to say, lack of it. Shocking to even write that after 3 days I had to go to reception and ask if towels will ever be changed, or bins emptied or something, to get response like it's my first time in hotel that towels have to be on floor to be replaced. Well, news for you KAREN, they don't! If towels are used they should be replaced daily.
We took 2 plates to room after breakfast, and left the room, returned late in evening to find those same plates still on table with toast and butter and cheese after room was cleaned?!
Also shocking lack of attention to guests from reception with zero questions about our stay, especially on check out where instead of usual questions about our stay only words after I handed in the key was - you need to pay tax changes! No problem KAREN!
Anyway, 4 stars is a dream for that hotel, truly."

"My husband and I stayed here April 8-11, and I have to tell you ... I cried when we left. This was such a magical hotel in the heart of Tuscany. We stayed in room 43 - we had a "normal" room (meaning not a suite) with a king bed and could not have been happier with it. Our room was extremely spacious, the bed seemed larger than a King, and it was wonderfully comfortable, as were the pillows.
The view, however, left us speechless. We opened our windows and were mesmerized by how gorgeous everything was. Alessio helped with our luggage, and with Terry’s body still recovering from cancer, he never could have done this on his own, so thank you so much. The shower was excellent with great water pressure, and the heated towel bar was a very nice addition.
The church bells from across the street are so peaceful and mesmerizing.
The entire staff was so lovely and kind. The wine dispenser is a really unique touch, and we enjoyed it our first night when we sat outside and sipped our wine, savoring the gorgeous, breathtaking views. Unfortunately, our tours started at 8:00 each morning, so we didn't get to take advantage of the breakfast, but we heard it was quite wonderful.
My cooking class that was held at the hotel one night with Chef Laura Franchini was absolutely fabulous. Thank you for bringing her to the hotel for this cooking class and for making the entire stay so special and magical. I will never forget any of it.
The view from our room looked like heaven and earth meeting, and because of your hotel, your staff, and Bar Dante around the corner, we are now looking at dates to return and for property to buy!
We are so in love with your beautiful area, and just wanted to express our appreciation for your hospitality and kindness. If you find yourself planning a trip to Tuscany, we cannot recommend Palazzo Leopoldo Dimora Storica & Spa enough."
