What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Pialassa Baiona's stunning natural beauty, particularly its abundant birdlife and breathtaking sunsets. It's hailed as a peaceful escape and a paradise for birdwatchers and photographers. Some note the presence of industrial areas nearby, but the overwhelming consensus is that the serene landscape and wildlife make it a must-visit.
"We visited on a crystal-clear winter day, with us being the only visitors. We left the car at Cà Vecia and followed the pedestrian and cycle path that runs through the San Vitale pine forest. This took us to a more open area, where there are fishing poles, and then to the Pialassa itself. We noted the presence of numerous species of birds typical of wetlands: Mediterranean gull, spoonbill, cormorant, flamingo, common shelduck, various herons... in short, a true treasure for nature lovers and birdwatchers. Absolutely not to be missed."
Stefania Bortolotti
"Visited in February, accompanied by a guide on a hike of a few kilometers, during which we were able to appreciate not only the landscape but also the history. There were few birds present, but it was pleasant nonetheless."

"It would be a place of perfect peace if it didn't have a fairly busy road and a large industrial plant just behind it.
In any case, a magical place to visit especially at sunset, when sky and water are reflected in a thousand shades of red and orange, among blades of marsh grass and, sometimes, groups of pink flamingos.
It can be accessed by car thanks to various junctions from the main road onto the white-bottomed path that runs alongside the Pialassa. Recommended by bike, with work on the cycle path currently underway."
