"A green area made up of dirt paths where you can stroll immersed in this natural wonder. I'd love to do it with my gravel bike (I don't know if you can enter with a bike). These terraces can be accessed from three points, preferably from the top, near the Duomo, and then down to a refreshment point where you can grab a drink or a sandwich. There are no equipped restrooms; I saw only one very basic, "young marmot"-style one at the refreshment point. Anyway, it's worth a stroll, perhaps after lunch at one of the many nearby restaurants."

🐼 The first building you come across is the WWF Environmental Education Center. The ground floor houses the teaching facilities, while the upper floors house the guesthouse with 40 beds and the administration office.
In the city of Recanati, thanks to its proximity to the sea and its exposure, vegetation formations typical of the Mediterranean scrub can be found.
Despite being an urban park, Villa Colloredo is very interesting from a naturalistic perspective. In particular, it features a mature and stratified vegetation cover where the different layers of the forest (trees, shrubs, and herbs) can be identified, with native plants of high naturalistic value, and where a consolidated and stable wildlife community (passerines, owls, small mammals, and insects) lives.
🐼The different types of users (schools, families, interns, tourists, etc.) who experience the Park have the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational activities, thanks to its precious architectural and historical flora and fauna.
There are nature trails with educational/informational noticeboards, points of interest such as the Butterfly Garden and Botanical Garden, an educational meadow with orchids and other spontaneous bulbs, an area for exotic tortoises, a wildlife area for common tortoises (Testudo Hermanni), and a domestic composting area.
The CEA's catchment area is vast and varied given its location between two provinces and its proximity to protected areas such as the Conero Park, Fiastra, Ripabianca di Jesi, and the Selva di Castelfidardo.
A hilly area yet close to both the sea and the Apennines, the CEA Villa Colloredo WWF addresses all environmental issues, from nature conservation to energy, from pollution to resources.

The first records of the Villa Colloredo Mels Park date back to 1817. The Gregorian Land Registry, at table 3, identifies the park area, once a Jewish cemetery, as being used for vegetable gardens and partially uncultivated. The Colloredo Mels family purchased the villa from the Antici dell'Aquila family in 1684.
In 1835, the Colloredo family purchased the other plots surrounding the villa and transformed them into an English-style park, as shown in the 1873 maps of the city of Recanati, where the area is no longer divided into vegetable gardens. These maps show that the hunting lodge had not yet been built. During the twenty years of Fascism, the park was divided to build road junctions and the ring road.
In the 1940s, Marquis Rodolfo left everything to the Holy House of Loreto. In the 1970s, the Municipality of Recanati purchased the entire property to use it as a public utility. Restoration took place in 1979-80. In the early 1980s, it was managed by a zoophilic society. The zoo was subsequently dismantled."
