What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Riserva Naturale dei Canneti di Dormelletto to be a pleasant natural area, particularly for its lakeside setting and the sounds of nature. However, many note that direct access to the reed beds is problematic due to surrounding development, making boat trips the preferred way to experience its full beauty. It's best enjoyed as part of a broader lake experience rather than a destination for deep nature immersion.
"A Nature Reserve that extends along the entire lake border of the Municipality of Dormelletto and that extends, administratively, into the portion of the lake that falls within it.
Given the development in a densely populated area and the presence of campsites and homes, observing the portions of reeds and riparian vegetation along the banks is problematic and an overall view of the protected area can only be appreciated from the lake with a boat.
There is no path that crosses it, there is no way to immerse yourself in "untouched" nature (which does not exist) and the best thing is to appreciate the general context of the lake from the beaches. So in summary: if the goal is to enjoy the beaches and everything that entails, an excellent choice, if you are looking for nature to observe, I recommend elsewhere."
