Reviews Summary

Visitors generally find Bioparco di Roma to be a pleasant and well-maintained city zoo, offering good value for money. While some enclosures are noted as being on the smaller side, the animals appear healthy and happy, with highlights including the Sumatran tigers and brown bears. It's a recommended break from busy sightseeing, especially for families.

"My visit to the Rome Zoo (Bioparco di Roma) was nothing short of unforgettable. The entire park is beautifully designed, full of lush greenery, winding paths, and thoughtfully curated habitats — but the true stars of the day were the white tiger and the penguins.

The white tiger was absolutely breathtaking. Seeing such a rare and majestic animal up close felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The enclosure is spacious and natural, allowing the tiger to roam, play, and show off its incredible power and grace. Watching it move so effortlessly was mesmerizing — a perfect blend of beauty and strength.

And then there were the penguins, an absolute delight! Their exhibit is lively, immersive, and surprisingly calming. You can watch them waddling, splashing, and diving with so much personality that it’s impossible not to smile. They seem genuinely happy and energetic, and it’s easy to lose track of time just watching their playful antics.

The staff were friendly and clearly passionate about the animals, and the park’s focus on conservation and education really shines through.

If you’re in Rome and looking for a memorable, heartwarming experience, the Rome Zoo is a must-visit — and don’t miss the white tiger and penguins. They’re truly unforgettable!"

"This was such a fun day in Rome, and gave a nice break from the busy sightseeing days. So many animals to see, and seems they are well cared for. We loved the sea lions 🦭 and penguins 🐧! So much personality!"

Beth O'Brien

"It's a very cozy and cute zoo to be in. At the start of the zoo we are welcomed with giraffes which you could watch from the top. Also, at an exact time you could watch how the workers fed the animals. We watched how the workers fed the penguins and it was very funny😁. It took us approximately 2 hours to go around and look at everything. Even though we went to the zoo 2 and a half hours before the zoo closed, we could see 90% of the animals. I really recommend the zoo!☺️"
