What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests rave about Hotel Eitch Borromini's unparalleled location on Piazza Navona and its stunning rooftop bar views, calling it a magical Roman experience. However, some find the hotel dated and not quite a 5-star luxury stay, citing uncomfortable beds and inconsistent amenities for the price.
"Staying at Eitch Borromini was an unforgettable experience! The hotel is absolutely stunning — a perfect blend of history, art, and modern comfort, right in the heart of Rome. Waking up to the breathtaking view of Piazza Navona felt like living inside a painting!
The staff were exceptional: warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a genuine smile. Every detail, from the beautifully restored rooms to the elegant breakfast terrace, shows great care and passion for hospitality.
The rooftop bar is simply magical — the view over the city at sunset is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.
I can’t recommend Eitch Borromini enough. It’s not just a hotel — it’s a Roman experience full of charm, elegance, and timeless beauty. I will definitely return on my next visit to Rome!"

"Such a fantastic hotel. In a former palace, the entire facility is beautiful and charming. Each floor is a separate art gallery, worth walking through the central staircase and exploring each floor.
We had breakfast everyday on the incredible terrace overlooking the piazza and surrounded by the incredible architecture of the attached church!
There is even a secret room the Pope used to spy on the congregation!
Or room was very comfortable, great bedding and sheets, loved the shower.
The staff was always super helpful and friendly with us.
This is a really special place!"

"We stayed at this property on the last night of a 2 week trip to Italy, and considered this to be the splurge of our trip. While there are some nice things about this hotel, it is not a 5 star hotel and of all the places we stayed during our trip, it was the only hotel I would not return to, the least nice of all our hotel stays, and the most expensive. We stayed at another hotel in Rome at the beginning of the trip as our flight was in and out of Rome. That hotel was much nicer, much less expensive - and in an equally good location.
I understand that this is a very old property and the uniqueness of it is one of its nice features. The property itself is somewhat shabby. Our room itself was not very nice. It was drab, undecorated, and plain. The bathroom was nice. The bed was perhaps the most uncomfortable bed I have ever encountered at a hotel. Room size you can’t do anything about, but the comfort of the bedding you can. This hotel advertises as a 5 star hotel, but feels like a 3 star hotel at best.
There is a nice rooftop bar, though it is very expensive. The location is great.
There are much nicer and less expensive hotels to be found in Rome. This was the only disappointment of our trip - nothing that impacted the trip - but this was nothing like what was advertised or what we paid for.
If you are expecting a 5 star or luxury stay, look elsewhere. And you can do so much better in terms of comfort and decor for much less money."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
However, some rooms may be smaller or have less modern amenities, which could be a consideration for families. The rooftop bar, while beautiful, might be less suitable for very young children during peak hours. It's advisable to inquire about room configurations and any specific family-friendly policies when booking.
💰 Budget Travelers
If you're looking for a more budget-friendly experience in Rome, you might find better value elsewhere. However, if the unique historical setting and prime Piazza Navona location are top priorities and you can find a deal, it could be a memorable, albeit pricier, choice.
💖 Couples & Romantic Getaways
Opt for a room with a view and enjoy evenings on the rooftop terrace. It’s the perfect place to celebrate an anniversary or enjoy a special occasion in the heart of the Eternal City.

The Palazzo Pamphilj Legacy
Staying here means immersing yourself in centuries of art and culture. The hotel itself is often described as an art gallery, with unique pieces and historical artifacts adorning its floors and common areas. Exploring the building is an experience in itself, revealing the grandeur of its past.
This unique setting provides an unparalleled atmosphere, blending historical significance with modern hospitality. It’s a chance to live, even briefly, within a piece of Roman heritage, offering a distinct alternative to standard hotel stays.
Rooftop Revelry: Views and Vibes
While the views are universally praised, guests should be aware that the prices for drinks and food are on the higher side. Many visitors find the experience worth the splurge for the unforgettable ambiance and photo opportunities. It's a popular spot, so reservations might be recommended, and there could be time limits for your visit.
This rooftop is the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing, enjoy a romantic evening, or simply soak in the beauty of Rome from a unique perspective. It transforms the hotel from just a place to stay into a destination in itself.
Navigating Expectations: Comfort vs. Charm
However, it's important to note that some reviews suggest the hotel might not consistently meet 5-star luxury expectations in terms of room comfort and modern amenities. Issues like uncomfortable beds, dated decor in some rooms, and occasional problems with Wi-Fi or air conditioning have been mentioned.
If you prioritize historical ambiance, a central location, and spectacular views over cutting-edge modern comfort, this hotel could be perfect. But if a consistently plush, modern 5-star experience is your main goal, you might want to weigh this feedback carefully.
