What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Hotel Genio is praised for its exceptional central location, placing guests within easy walking distance of Rome's most iconic landmarks. The friendly and helpful staff, along with the scenic rooftop terrace, are frequently highlighted as positives. However, some guests have noted that the hotel's facilities can be dated, with occasional issues like noisy air conditioning or slow-draining showers.
"Amazing location, very close to all the attractions,
Unfortunately we had many issues during our stay,
Hotel is quite dated, air conditioner made loud noises non stop, showers did not drain properly so could not utilise the good water pressure for more than a minute,
On our morning before our last night there, we awoke to multiple bed bugs in our bed, one if which had bitten my parter, only noticed due to the blood on the sheets,
We alerted the staff at the front desk before going out for a day tour,
We arrived back at 8pm and they had a new room for us,
We were told not to use the shower or bedding from our old room as it had been made up and ready to go for the next guests,
I assume the bugs were still infesting the mattresses,
Upon returning to old room to collect our belongings,
We found the door had been left unlocked throughout the day by staff,
Luckily our laptops had not been stolen.
New room appeared fine however we could barely sleep due to the paranoia of the bugs.
We had alarms going off one morning around 0730 with no staff to guide or explain,
One night the power went off for around an hour,
Staff showed ME how to fix it and returned to the front desk,
Power continued tripping until around midnight.
Definitely would not recommend."

"The people at reception were so nice and friendly and always so helpful. The hotel was in a great location. Walked to so many places and the bus was steps away to get to the Vatican and other places too far to walk.
There was some noises not sure if it was the pipes but it sounded like drilling. Also a bit of a smell like cleaning products.
Room was decent size and your typical European size room. Great views from the rooftop. Breakfast was served on the 6th floor with great views."

"The entire staff was very friendly, I got in quite early and was given my room long before check in time. The location was just steps from Piazza Navona and several great restaurants. The terrace was so nice to sit and watch the sunsets and to enjoy breakfast in the morning. The room I had was on the 5th floor and very spacious, and a wonderful surprise was that I had a balcony. I definitely recommend Hotel Genio if you plans to visit Rome."
