What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Trattoria Luzzi is a highly recommended, historic spot near the Colosseum, celebrated for its authentic Roman cuisine, particularly its pasta and legendary Tiramisu, all offered at very reasonable prices. While service can be busy, the warm atmosphere and delicious food make it a favorite for locals and tourists alike.
"We ordered the Cacio e Pepe, the Arrabbiata pasta, and a Tiramisu. My son said the Cacio e Pepe was okay — it’s basically spaghetti with cheese and black pepper — but still had good flavour. The Arrabbiata was very tasty and surprisingly full of flavour. For such simple, basic dishes, they really impressed me. The prices were also very reasonable compared to other places in the area.
But I have to say… my god, the Tiramisu was amazing. I’m not usually a fan of tiramisu in the UK, but since we were in Rome I had to give it a try — and it ended up being the best I’ve ever had. My only regret is not ordering another one!
The service was okayish. We hadn’t been here before so we weren’t sure how everything worked — whether they come to the table or you go up — and a few times when trying to order we were told to “ask the other guy.” But to be fair, they were extremely busy. The gentleman with the beard (I’m guessing the owner) was very good and attentive though, which helped.
Overall, definitely recommend. Great food, incredible tiramisu, and good value for money near the Colosseum."
