What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pietraia dei Poeti is lauded for its unique artistic vision, particularly the seamless integration of Marcello Sgattoni's sensitive works with the natural landscape. Visitors appreciate the mystical atmosphere and the breathtaking sea views. While some note a decline in upkeep, the passion behind its creation still resonates strongly.
"The Pietraia dei Poeti is an open-air museum and an artistic laboratory, suspended between sky and sea on the hills behind San Benedetto del Tronto. Created and maintained with passion and strength by Maestro Marcello Sgattoni. I highly recommend it."
Daniela Trobbiani
"It is no longer so well cared for but the passion with which it was born still pervades it"
Marco Farina
"It is the museum of the Pieteaia dei Poeti of the master Marcello Sgattoni. The museum was a large water cistern retransformed into a building where every year, in the summer, works by local and non-local artists are exhibited. It is also the place where all year round the works of Maestro Sgattoni placed in different points of the open-air hilly space "camouflage" with the vegetation. It is a somewhat mystical place that reflects the character and sensitivity of the artist. Worth seeing, highly recommended."
