What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Sangro River War Cemetery as a beautiful and deeply moving place of remembrance, highlighting its immaculate upkeep and stunning coastal views. However, some express disappointment regarding a perceived lack of respect from certain visitors, including unleashed dogs and children treating the site inappropriately.
"The cemetery was built in a beautiful place, a worthy resting place for the fallen soldiers. The only disappointing thing is that the local Italians enjoy letting their dogs run around among the graves, letting them run free like a dog park, the dogs urinate at the base of the graves to their heart's content!!! The other disappointing thing, which completely blew the fuse for me, is when German tourists arrive with children and let them turn the place into a playground. They climb trees, run around among the trees. Where the dead are laid to rest beneath their feet. There is neither respect nor humility on Earth!!!! And that's why these people died, we don't deserve the world they left us!"
