"UNMISSABLE!! USEFUL INFORMATION 😁 1) TICKET: I recommend the €7 combination ticket that includes the Tophet and Archaeological Museums. Tickets can be purchased at the Archaeological Museum. 2) PARKING: There's a convenient and large free parking lot near the Museum where you can leave your car indefinitely. 3) VISIT: The area is fairly shaded, so you can go at any time, but, in my opinion, sunset offers the most vibrant colors and a mystical atmosphere befitting a sanctuary. Guided tours aren't necessary; there are descriptive panels throughout the area with enough information to understand the place from a tourist perspective. It's not a large area, so even reading the panels slowly and enjoying the scenery will take you half an hour. The route is not very suitable for those with mobility issues. At the ticket office, they direct you to the Tophet first and then the Museum, but the order of visits is irrelevant. In fact, in my opinion, it's better to visit the Museum first (budget 1.5-2 hours here) because it allows you to better understand the historical, social, and religious context in which this Sanctuary was born, its geography, and in the section dedicated to the Tophet, you can better understand its structure and its stratification, you can see the tombstones that accompanied the urns, the small objects that accompanied the little deceased. In short, in my opinion, it's better to understand everything first and then take the walk to see the location 😊 4) ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE for EVERYONE. Yes, it's fascinating for anyone who visits it, even those who aren't very passionate about archaeology will love this place and will be fascinated by its atmosphere and the suggestion of the mysteries that still surround it.
