"Worth it"
Victor Sequeira
"It is located in the Priamàr Fortress and is a museum dedicated to two illustrious personalities of Savona: the partisan President Sandro Pertini and the sculptor Renata Cuneo.
The donations of Pertini and Cuneo can be visited with paintings and sculptures divided into two very interesting and beautiful adjacent sections.
The Sandro Pertini Art Museum was inaugurated in 1991 according to the will he expressed to his wife Carla Voltolina, to donate to Savona his collection consisting of works by excellent artists and admirers.
Instead, in 1986 Renata Cuneo donated 150 drawings, 28 plaster casts and 50 sculptures in bronze, terracotta, ceramic and wax to the Municipality of Savona.
The works were exhibited in 1990 in the Baluardo San Bernardo and subsequently found a place together with those of the President in the Palazzo della Loggia, where they can currently be visited.
The museum has the following opening hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9.30 to 13.30."

The Legacy of Pertini and Cuneo
Complementing Pertini's collection is the significant donation from sculptor Renata Cuneo. In 1986, she gifted the Municipality of Savona over 150 drawings, 28 plaster casts, and 50 sculptures in various materials. These works, initially exhibited elsewhere, found their permanent home alongside Pertini's collection, creating a dual exhibition that celebrates both art and civic pride.
Despite the richness of these donated collections, there's a sentiment among visitors and reviewers that the city could do more to promote and preserve these important works. The limited opening hours and sometimes poor signage are cited as hindrances to appreciating the full value of these donations.
Navigating the Priamar Fortress
However, a recurring point of feedback is the lack of clear signage directing visitors to the museum once inside the fortress grounds. This can lead to some confusion and frustration, especially for those unfamiliar with the complex. Despite this, the staff are generally praised for their friendliness and efforts to assist visitors, helping to mitigate any navigational challenges.
