This large busy fishing port has ships, vans and trucks filled with freshly caught seafood coming in and out all the time and a lot of fishermen keeping themselves busy with loading crates or maintaining the ships and fishing nets. "Sciacca is for sure well known for the fish markets...and that's it. We were expecting a nice harbour where to refresh ourselves with a typical "granita". Totally the opposite. Just cars and dirty roads. No way to stroll in peace nor a promenade to enjoy. We didn't dare to try the "old town" but we don't recommend it at all. The only nice spot is on the panoramic view point south-east of Sciacca, which is actually looking away from the town..."
