Reviews Summary
Visitors are drawn to the Teatro Samonà primarily for its art exhibitions, particularly those featuring Caravaggio and his school, which are often described as wonderful and meticulously curated. The unique brutalist architecture of the theater is also appreciated. However, inconsistent opening hours and the building's condition have been noted as drawbacks by some.
"Exhibition of 17th-Century Painting
A famous painting by Caravaggio is on display here until December. Other paintings from the Caravaggio school are also on display."

"During the "Treasure Roads" exhibition, I had the opportunity to visit the Caravaggio between Darkness and Light exhibition.
We were fortunate enough to visit it with the help of explanations from students from the Sciacca Linguistic Institute. The paintings, part of the private collection of an English family, have been circulating around the various exhibition halls for several years and are part of a carefully studied architecture of light and shadow—a title not without reason, which conveys their studied and enhanced vision. These paintings are by various painters contemporary with Caravaggio, and in some cases were inspired by him and a painting by Caravaggio himself. It is divided into five sections: The Beginning of the Myth; Intimacy and the Flesh; Tragic Tenebrism between Spain, France, and the Netherlands; Bologna between Drama and Grace; and the final section, The Touch of Truth, where Caravaggio's canvas is displayed in a play of mirrors that infinitely multiplies the work. An exhibition curated down to the smallest detail that transports you into a sea of sensations, amplified by the meticulously curated exhibition by the students and the quality of the paintings on display. Definitely worth seeing for those who haven't yet, and worth seeing again for those who have. In Sciacca until December 14, 2025. Thanks to the students from the Linguistic Institute who guided visitors through the exhibition in great detail."

"We came especially for the Caravaggio exhibition, but found the doors closed on a Tuesday at 2 p.m. No opening hours were indicated anywhere, incomprehensible!"
