The museum is noted for its tranquil village setting in Segno and the impressive equestrian statue. While small, it offers a significant glimpse into the achievements of a remarkable historical figure.
"Beautiful museum with an interesting description of the life and works of Eusebio Francesco Chini, a missionary father originally from Segno and founder of numerous missions in Mexico and Arizona... the village of Segno is also beautiful, dominated by an extraordinary and highly sought-after tranquility!👏💖"

"The museum in Segno (TN) bears witness to the actions of the missionary/cartographer/astronomer, a religious man who, with his actions, in the period between the end of the 1600s and the early 1700s, helped the populations in Central America, Mexico, California and Alabama to build churches, taught them to cultivate and founded numerous villages in these lands, defending them from the invasion of the new Spanish settlers. A scholar who is still remembered with great gratitude today in these lands, then very far from European reality."

"While it is true that Padre Kino left the Old World to find a home in the New, it is also true that his hometown has never forgotten the Padre on Horseback.
A few months before the equestrian statue of Kino arrived in Segno, his hometown was purchasing an appropriate location where the monumental, larger-than-life bronze could be worthily placed. It was only a matter of months before the imposing bronze statue made its final journey from Mexico to wind its way up the winding streets of Segno.
In 1991, once the statue was discovered and the monument was inaugurated on that same site, work began with the firm conviction of creating the museum behind the monument itself. The undertaking would require a great deal of time, planning and a large sum of money. For another five years, work was done on the façade and other elements of the museum. Finally, in 1996, the elegant mosaic on the exterior façade of the building was completed. It was the refined work of Mariano Fracalossi, an artist from Trento. Once again the fame of Eusebio Kino attracted artists and artisans into his network of creativity.
In 1997 the concept of the museum took shape. The statue and the mosaic stimulated a wider response so the Cultural Association Padre Eusebio Francesco Chini decided to bring the project to life. The collections of objects are carefully and delightfully distributed on all three floors of the museum."
