What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the absolutely breathtaking, unparalleled views of the Strait of Messina and surrounding islands, often comparing them to the Amalfi Coast. However, many note that the trail is poorly maintained and lacks clear signage, making navigation challenging and some sections potentially dangerous. The lack of readily available information and transport options also presents difficulties for some.
"This is the road you need to park up to walk the amazing coastal path ignore any advice that has the track starting at Sant Elina as you will be scrambling down a very steep dusty hill before you start.
In classic Clabrian style a path as wonderful as this isn't signposted and you can't get any info from the local tourist board
The actual track itself is brilliant like the Coastal paths in Cornwall in the UK or Portugal just sadly really hard to find.
Also the only transport in Palmi is the train no taxis!"

"A unique landscape path for its particularity. It would need a little more maintenance. Starting from the top of Monte Sant'Elia, the first downhill stretch is particularly challenging. Furthermore, this stretch is in a state of severe abandonment. Then in the flat and uphill stretch you can walk almost calmly. The vegetation is tall and prevents you from seeing the road in front of you in some stretches. Despite these difficulties, the trail is truly beautiful. Highly recommended."

"I've been there twice! It's a wonderful experience, the first part safe, the second much more dangerous. In some sections, the trail becomes almost non-existent, there are some rope handrails and in other places completely exposed. You have to be very careful because the terrain is very loose. It's important to carefully consider the risks for those who want to undertake this route with a view that is nothing short of spectacular. Enjoy your hike!"
