Come arriva l'acqua a Fontana di Trevi? Dall'unico acquedotto romano ancora in funzione dopo oltre duemila anni.

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Roman Aqueduct Trail for its historical significance and stunning natural beauty. The well-preserved ancient structure and the panoramic views of the Umbrian valley are major highlights. While the hike involves some inclines and steeper sections, most find it a rewarding experience, especially when combined with a visit to the charming town of Spello.

"A must see even if only for a short time. As much as I would have liked to hike the entire 2.5 miles to Collepino, I'm just very happy to have seen these ancient Roman aqueducts at all. Truly amazing how well intacted they still are. Not to forget the views of Spello, the mountains beyond, the valley below, and the endless olive trees. It's a walk amongst history...
Directions: If arriving within Spello, the easiest way to find the trail head is to walk to the very north edge of the town (about another 4 mins of walking from the Arco Romano) and exit the walls through porta montanara by via poeta. (Do not follow the Google directions as it will make you walk all the way around; there is no need to do so as via poeta will connect directly through- even cars can drive this route). Continue until you reach via bulgarella, which will lead you directly to the trail head. The trail head is well marked and easy to see from afar."

Joel Moralez

"A highly enjoyable walk with a near constant gradient. Beautiful views across the valley and cool shade in the trees of the higher half.
There are stairs at "the snail" and a steeper section with a little erosion near the top.
The route is very well marked, and there are multiple water filling points.
As a fairly fit, nearly 60 year old the walk from the railway station of Spello, up through the village to buy a sandwich and onto the top, took about two hours with photo breaks.
We stopped for lunch in the beautiful village and then picked up the train again.
Well worth a visit."

"Didn't proceed on the path but just arriving here was an unforgettable trip. Actually sit between the olives. If you wanna take the long trip come prepared with water, sun protection"
