"Marked trail that can be covered in about 15 minutes. You can leave your car on both sides of the path, but consider that there are very few available spaces and on the road... I leave 4 stars because there was an intent to do something beautiful, too bad that it has not been cared for for some time because the protective fence has given way in some places, some parts of the pavement have fallen, some fallen trees have not been removed and make crossing difficult. It is not recommended for a crossing with strollers because some points have steps or rocks that are annoying to cross. More or less halfway along the path you can reach the blue big bench #265 also visible from via Flaca."

"The trail leads on foot to the village of Sperlonga, a few kilometers from the archaeological site of Tiberius's Villa. From there, you can clearly see the charming village, nestled on a promontory jutting out into the sea. We walked part of the way to the beach resorts, unsure where it ended. Then we turned back, took the car, and drove up to the village, paying for parking and exploring on foot. It would certainly have been more scenic to walk there via the trail, but essential information is lacking (how many kilometers does it take? Where does the walk end?). The place was completely unfamiliar to us. Along the way—hungry and tired after two full hours exploring the archaeological area (Museum, Villa, and Cave) under a scorching sun—we came across totems informing us that this is the Path and Woods of Ulysses: one describes the Villa, one the Museum. We only discovered more information later, searching online and reading other reviews. The trail is paved and runs parallel to the road, but it's sheltered and shaded, surrounded by greenery. To the left, heading toward Sperlonga, you have a view of the sea, and to the right, the mountains rise. This route was the ancient route, the Via Flacca. On either side, the trail is flanked by low wooden fences, which in many places are torn or no longer sturdy: be careful when leaning on them (especially children), as they could break, risking a fall. In some places, I found broken tree branches and large quantities of dry leaves on the ground. A good sweep of the ground every now and then wouldn't hurt.
I should note that, unfortunately, no one at the museum indicates this trail, which we found on our own as we left the museum before getting our car back from the parking lot. Granted, the museum isn't an "info point," but if there were someone there to welcome you differently than the one we found, we'd have a better memory. Why don't they feel the desire, the passion, to welcome visitors with a smile and tell them about this interesting nature walk that leads to the village of Sperlonga? Well, they don't even feel the need to inform you about the museum, for that matter; they just give you a ticket and off you go, without a brochure, without anything. We're from Bergamo and we've traveled miles; we come to visit your region, to get to know it and appreciate it, and we're met with long faces."
