"I visited this place on July 2024 and I can definitely say it’s worthy a visit - the location, surrounded by the river and the mountains, it’s truly charming. You can reach this place parking (freely) your car at the San Giovanni all’archetto church and then doing a 60minutes hiking route (quite easy, with just a couple of climbs). Nearby this small temple, there is a panoramic area that overlooks the lake. There is also a small beach in case you want take a bath in the lake."

Vincenzo Prestera

"Intresting historical site off the beat and path."

"We reached the small temple starting from Era (Ruins of the Church of San Giovanni all'Archetto). The route is easy, in the cool of the woods, and suitable for families with children (no strollers). It's a little over an hour's walk, with two slightly exposed sections, but well-protected by iron steps with handrails. The small temple of San Fedele is beautiful from the outside, but the surrounding area is a bit neglected (broken wooden benches, lack of wastepaper baskets). You can visit the interior of the small church from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM for a fee of 1 euro. Unfortunately, the remaining frescoes are damaged. The interior is not well-maintained. I suggest increasing the ticket price to at least 5 euros, while slightly improving the cleanliness and order of the interior."

The Tempietto di San Fedelino itself is a small, historic church that, despite its modest size, holds a certain charm. Visitors can explore its interior, but it's important to note the specific visiting hours: from April to October, it's open only on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. A small entrance fee of 1 euro grants access. While the exterior is picturesque, reviews suggest that the interior and the immediate surroundings could benefit from more upkeep. The remaining frescoes inside are noted as being damaged, and the general condition of the area, including benches and waste bins, has been described as somewhat neglected. Reddit

However, the appeal of the site extends beyond the temple walls. Just a short walk from the church, you'll discover a panoramic area offering spectacular views of Lake Mezzola and the surrounding mountains. This viewpoint is a highlight for many, providing a perfect backdrop for photos and a moment of quiet appreciation. Further exploration leads to a small, hidden beach on the lake, which is described as truly spectacular and a wonderful spot to cool off with a swim on a warm day. Reddit

Despite the minor criticisms regarding maintenance, the unique combination of a historical site, stunning natural vistas, and a secluded swimming spot makes the Tempietto di San Fedelino a worthwhile destination for those seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience.
