Visitors praise Tonnara di Vendicari as a wonderful historical and natural site, highlighting the evocative ruins and the beauty of the surrounding nature reserve, especially for birdwatching. Some wish for more detailed historical information to fully appreciate the site's past.

"Wonderful place to visit. It is an ancient tuna fishing and processing complex, located within the Nature Reserve where you can also see flamingo’s. Tonnara Vindicari is not only a historical and cultural attraction, but also a natural paradise where you
can enjoy a peaceful day and take in the beauty and diversity of the Mediterranean flora."

Paul Fernando

"Interesting historical site of an old tuna processing plant, for which the area was traditionally well known. The main building of the factory now lies in ruins, but the nearby warehouse hides an interesting exposition dedicated to the local fauna and flora, including an insightful history of the tuna breeding and processing. If you are visiting the nearby Vendicari natural reserve, make sure you don't miss to visit this place, especially if you are interested in ecology and history."

Andrej Michal

"The tuna industry was once a main pillar of Sicily's economy. Unfortunately, most of the great Tonnaras were destroyed during the war and later abandoned - now they remain only as relics of the past.

Impressive structure that invites the imagination. I just wish it had a bit more informations around the history as I really wanted to learn more about it.

This tonnara is about 10 min walk from the main entrance (20 min from paid parking) but the walk was flat and pleasant."
