"Torre dell’Orso is a stunning beach just a short drive north of Otranto. It’s touted as the “Caribbean beach” of Salento and in fairness, it does have the soft sand and beautifully clear turquoise water. The town itself is small but has a few good spots to eat and a deli. It was quiet when we visited in late May, which was ideal, but you can tell it probably gets really busy during peak season. Definitely worth checking out if you’re exploring the Salento coast."

"Visited midweek late August, free beach a bit crowded but managed to find space for umbrellas and chairs. The sand is a bit dark that spreads everywhere and needs to be cleaned well after leaving the beach. Small waves, lots of private areas with umbrellas and chairs for a fee. Water temperature pretty good."

"We've tried a few beaches around Lecce, on the east cost and they were very nice but they were quite busy so couldn't really say how we enjoyed them, until today. This beach was amazing, there are areas where you pay for the use of the sun loungers and parasol and some were free, obviously you would need your own gear. The heat varied today around 36 degrees and without the shade of the parasole would have been too much. The sea was amazing and clear and just the right temperature to cool off from the sun!!! Definitely going back!!! Highly recommend a visit."
