"During our stay in Trento with my lovely girlfriend, we couldn’t miss a visit to the Buonconsiglio Castle Museum.
The museum is located within this historic castle, which served as the residence of princes and bishops from the 12th to the 18th century.
Despite recent restoration work, the museum conveys its history in a very engaging way through stories, artifacts, images, and beautifully preserved frescoes.
Inside, there are different sections with exhibitions organized by historical periods, ranging from prehistoric artifacts to items from the world wars.
We didn’t opt for a guided tour, but the abundance of detailed explanations and information provided along the way was more than enough. The staff was also very kind and gave us helpful directions about the route to follow.
At the end of the visit, we headed to the benches in the garden to relax and chat a bit in the sunshine, as it was a beautiful day.

"The highlight of Trento, not to be missed! For the tower - even more highlighted, you need a reservation. The toilet is in a separate building- use it before you get lost in the castle. The cafeteria has limited lunch option. The bookshop is excellent, full of great present ideas. It is tourist friendly, lot of texts in English too. Lot of climbing too- full of protesting children during the weekend."
