"The Patriarchal Palace of Udine, now the residence of the Archbishop, houses the Diocesan Museum. The 15th-century building was the seat of the Patriarchs of Aquileia for three centuries, who embellished and decorated it lavishly. The museum collection comprises approximately 700 works, including frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo, the artist who dominates the scene. He decorated the ceiling of the Grand Staircase, the Guest Gallery, and the Red Room—artistic masterpieces well worth a visit."
