What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the enchanting beauty of Borghetto sul Mincio, often calling it a highlight with its picturesque mills and river setting. The views from the Valeggio sul Mincio castle tower are also highly appreciated for their panoramic vistas. However, some note that the castle ruins themselves are not extensive, and seasonal closures of the tower can be a drawback.
"Not much of the castle remains. It's got an ok view, but if you go out of season (I think before late March) the tower (which i think is the real attraction) is closed. The old bridge across the river to the castle and Borghetto is cool and we thought the borghetto itself was a lot more charming and interesting than the castle remains themselves. But certainly a neat place worth a stop. There are several other castles in a near-ish vicinity as well that may be worth exploring."

"The castle itself is not that special but the view from up the tower is very beautiful. It’s cheap so I highly recommend walking up the tower for the landscape. You get a nice view on the nearby town and the river."
Hajnalka Kelemen
"This ruins of the small castle is nice to go to.
However there is not so much to see.
The view however is good. You also get a feeling why this spot was so important throughout history. This is where the most important crossing of the river was."
